A design and product concept created with Tru Fragrance + Beauty. We developed a collection of fragrances showcasing consciously harvested raw materials. Because each scent was dominated by a hero note with a unique background, the packaging told the scent story and its origin. Ylang-Ylang from Nosy Be, Madagascar, Mimosa Flowers from Coimbatore, India, and Sichuan peppers from China. Each bottle comes wrapped in a printed scarf, protected in a reusable keepsake box and wrapped in a belly band.
For each scent, I illustrated the repeat pattern of the hero note, while hiding illustrations of local wildlife from the region. It’s like a Where’s Waldo of lemurs, tigers, and elephants. The patterns carry through the box and scarf. I developed the color palettes to match the scent and ingredients, and skewed them to keep the packaging feminine.
